Are you struggling with negative thoughts? Brian Tracy beats them

Negative thoughts are the main obstacles to your success. What's more, they can completely destroy it. Brian Tracy, who is a world-renowned speaker and coach, realized this when he was 21 years old. It was during a winter when he lived in a small, shabby one-room apartment and worked on a construction site. He realized that to really change his life he must begin with himself. This was a precious moment of clarity. What he realized he describes on his website briantracy.com.

Overcome your negative thinking

Negative thoughts paralyze you and take all the joy out of your life. They are often caused by the process of rationalization, which is a mechanism by which we cope with unpleasant experiences. But when we rationalize something, which means that we explain it in a socially acceptable manner, it locks us into the position of  victim, and at the same time, we perceive others as aggressors or the bad guys.

Rise above others' opinions

Excessive sensitivity to how others may see you and interact with you is also a frequent source of negative thinking. Some people's self-image depends entirely on how others deal with them. Their sense of personal value or self-worth depends purely on how others speak to them or even look at them. But your self-esteem shouldn’t consist only of what others think about you. That is no good. If reactions of others are negative, whatever the reason, these people are feeling ashamed. They experience feelings of despair, self-pity and embarrassment.

How to stop feeling bad

The key is to understand that you're the one who has all the responsibility for how you feel. It's not possible to take responsibility for how you feel and still feel sorrow and anger. Once you have decided that you have your life firmly in your hands, there is no more room for despair.
