Don't be too nice
As stated in a Forbes article, when delegating work, you must avoid being excessively nice. In an effort not to appear too authoritative, you may end up giving overly vague instructions, which can lead to misunderstandings. Speak clearly and directly.
Clearly state how the outcome should look
When assigning a task, you need to explain clearly and comprehensibly what the goal is; in other words, what the final result should look like. Wherever possible, use concrete figures and precise data.
Maintain ongoing communication with subordinates
Delegation is not the end of the process. Don't assume that a mutual understanding has been fully achieved and no further follow-up is required. Meet with your subordinates regularly, gather feedback, and maintain open communication.
Allow subordinates space to achieve the goal their own way
Delegating a task does not mean you should micromanage the process. Explain the desired outcome and then allow subordinates the freedom to reach the goal in their own time and style.
