Preparing slides that look good is not hard. All you need is a little effort and a few useful tips. The former depends on you; for the latter, you can take advice from the presentationmagazine.com website.

However, always consider the make-up of your audience. It also depends on the kind of impression you want to make and the message you have to deliver. Sometimes a presentation needs to look more traditional.

1. Fonts? Pick a thin one

Thin fonts are currently in. You may have noticed that websites nowadays prefer such fonts. The reason is that many people browse the web on their mobile phones, so the layout must take as little space as possible in order to fit well on small screens.

At the same time. keep in mind that you also want texts on your slides to be legible. So you may consider testing the type and size of your font from the back of a room.

2. Colours? Use richer ones

Faded colours are not in vogue today. Sometimes they may look good but it is better to use richer, saturated colours. Then use greys as a secondary colour. You needn’t rebrand the style of everything you are using but if you are preparing completely new material, bear this in mind.

3. Thin borders and lines

Do you include some borders or lines on your slides? Then make them thin. The result will be elegant. Sometimes, however, you may prefer thick lines in order to create a contrast or to focus the attention of your audience.

4. 2017 is the year of flat design

Don’t use reflections – even if you are tempted to do so. No shadows, no attempts to create a 3D look. Flat design is in fashion.
