Recover your original motivation
The Harvard Business Review advises thinking about what first attracted you to your job and what you originally enjoyed most about it. Then try to go back to the very values that were important to you at that time and focus on the tasks that fulfilled you. By reminding yourself of your original motivation, you might again find meaning in your work.
Identify specific causes of dissatisfaction
Try to figure out what in particular is causing your loss of motivation. Is it too much administration, lack of creative space, or lack of growth? Only when you name the problem can you seek ways to address it.
Delegate tasks
If you are feeling overwhelmed, see if you might be able to delegate some responsibilities to other team members. By delegating work more, not only will you be less stressed, but you will also allow your team to grow and develop new skills.
Consider new challenges or projects
Sometimes all it takes to restore your enthusiasm is a new project or challenge. You might, for example, initiate an innovative project or join a mentoring programme.
Focus on personal development
Investing in your education and professional development can open up new perspectives. Consider attending a seminar or professional training. By learning new skills, you can expand your qualifications and perhaps find something new in your job that you enjoy.
Communicate with superiors
If you are feeling dissatisfied in the long term, do not hesitate to talk openly with your superiors. You may find that there are ways of adapting work to your needs.
