Are you looking for inspiration on how to improve as a leader? Then the following lines are meant just for you. Forbes.com has recently published an interesting article by Dave Lavinsky titled 90 Days To Great Leadership. As you rightly expect, it is a guide on how to develop your leadership skills independently in 12 weeks. We have summarized the individual phases of this journey for you below.

1st week

Start by performing an analysis of your relationships with the people around you. Focus on problematic relationships in your professional life and look for the causes that are common for these problems on your part. It can be a lack of communication, trust or interest. Ask yourself the question whether you can adequately inspire your surroundings and share your knowledge, too.

2nd - 4th week

Once you have found your weaknesses, try to meet the people you don't have ideal relationship with in person. These may be your clients as well as subordinates. Ask them what kind of experience they have with you and how your relationship could improve. Focus on active listening.

5th - 8th week

Once you have made the necessary steps to improve your relationships and communication skills, focus on your ability to inspire others. Find ways to set a good example and to pass on their vision and their knowledge so that others can grow with you.

9th - 12th week

During the last month, focus on monitoring the results of your previous efforts. Don't expect that everyone will applaud you, notice the impact on your team and your company's business. You will probably not see higher sales yet, but you could see a better morale of your team or better relationships with your clients.
