Welcome change and learn to work with it
A good leader prepares their team for challenges that the ever-changing, fast-paced world we live in today keeps bringing. Staying in one's comfort zone and sticking to the status quo are the worst enemies of efficient, sustainable leadership. Learn to flourish in a world of constant change, and learn (and teach your subordinates) to embrace change and welcome it as an opportunity.
Build your confidence
A manager with low self-confidence can unfortunately never become a great leader. If you do not believe in yourself, you can hardly expect trust from the people you are supposed to be leading. The good news is you do not need to be born with self-confidence; you can build it over time. Improve your strengths, become an expert in a certain field, and work on your communication skills so you eventually truly believe in your own skills and qualities.
Support others in what they are best at
A leader who gets the best out of subordinates must be empathetic. They must also be able to support people around them. View these people as unique individuals, and try to be a catalyst in their personal development. Support them in what they do well and what they enjoy, and use the strengths of individuals to support the cause of the team as a whole.
