Successful personal and business brands have one thing in common - they must be based on true, real, and genuine values. If you try to present yourself as someone else, you will soon get tired on the one hand and soon be revealed on the other hand. Therefore, remember that branding is about authenticity. You need to understand yourself and what makes you unique to your target audience.

How to do it? In his article on Forbes.com, personal branding expert William Arruda recommends to ask the following seven questions:

  1. What is your greatest strength? What can you do better than others?

  2. What are your fundamental values?

  3. What do most people praise you for? What do they value the most on yourself?

  4. Why are your friends, colleagues and clients turning to you?

  5. What adjectives most people use to describe you? How do they introduce you to other people?

  6. What is the way your work? What is unique and interesting on how you achieve your results?

  7. What gives you energy and what can inspire you?

Answers to these questions will provide you with the basic knowledge for the way you should present yourself. Do what is natural for you and you will see that the people around you will notice.
