Do not be a micro-manager and give employees some space
First of all, you must allow employees a certain space for their own initiative. Do not be the unpopular boss who practises micro-management; instead, give employees some breathing space.
Incorporate game features into work
You may successfully disrupt and improve the everyday routine by clever incorporation of game features and healthy competition into the work of your team.
Motivate each employee individually
Every person is different and each of them is motivated in a different way. Present the team with a common vision but at the same time do not neglect the personal motivation of individuals.
Praise a job well done
This sounds trivial but a surprisingly large number of managers forget about it. If something goes well, you must praise the given person in an appropriate and honest way.
Do not focus only on numbers
Employees are frustrated if you assess their work based solely on hard, exact numbers. When you are assessing your team and motivating them to give of their best, take into account also factors that cannot be expressed only in exact numbers.
Do not notice employees only when something is not working
Many managers neglect communication with employees when everything is going well and only begin to show an interest in them when something goes wrong. Communicate with employees regularly even if nothing negative is happening.
Tolerate a certain error rate
If employees are stressed out for fear of making mistakes, they will never explore new opportunities and never reach their full potential.
