What are your sales representatives trying to tell you?

In one of its recent articles, the Sales & Marketing Management specialized website focused on the interesting area of cooperation between sales managers and salespeople. The result is a list of things that salespeople would like to tell their bosses, but often they don’t summon up the courage to do so. This of course negatively impacts the quality of their work. So what are your salespeople trying to tell you?

  • Don’t tell me that I am not supposed to offer the customer a discount, if you then offer him the same discount that I proposed.

  • When you tell me that you’ll call my customer, then really do call her.

  • If I ask you for advice, don’t lecture me. And if I ask you a question, don’t act like it means that I am purposefully avoiding my work.

  • When you’re working with me, pay full attention to me. If we make arrangements in advance, do not use unexpected events as an excuse.

  • Don’t try to convince me that you’re the best salesperson in the world.

  • If you want to handle sales calls, don’t be a manager, be a regular salesperson.

  • Help me when I need to establish contact with top representatives of companies that I am trying to acquire as customers.

  • Know that if you scream at me for not meeting my quotas, it won’t help me in any way.

  • Don’t give advice to me on what I am supposed to do if in the same situation you act differently from what you say.
