Facilitator i.e. the expert on leading discussions is intended to control the course of discussions so that the particular group of people could more easily communicate and reach good decisions. 1.Neutrality

Facilitator leads the process of negotiation but he does not come with solutions.

2. Preparation

Facilitator must be prepared for each meeting. He should know the group and the issues to be discussed. Depending on that he choses the techniques to manage the discussion.

3. Energy

Neutrality does not mean inaction. Facilitator should bring energy to negotiations to help the discussing people keep concentration and commitment.

4. Clear sense of purpose of the meeting

Facilitator should be flexible but must have a plan with which he will enter the negotiation.

5. Positive approach

Facilitator should use his attitude to make the discussing people want to achieve a common goal.
