For three weeks, July traditionally belongs to one of the world's major sporting events - the Tour de France. With the exception of World War II, the race has been held every year since 1903. The racers' teams play a fundamental role in the success of daily winners as well as the final winner. You can't win the yellow jersey without your team. So if you're watching the Tour de France, you can take away not only an ultimate sports experience, but also a number of inspiring lessons on how to better manage your team. TLNT.com summarized the lessons as follows.

1. Each member of the team must have a clear role

To succeed, your team must consist of the right combination of members. Everyone must have the opportunity to utilize their strengths. In the case of the Tour de France, the ideal balance is reached with the right combination of sprinters, long-distance and versatile riders.

2. Planning must take place constantly

In the race as well as at work, you can't plan everything in advance and then just let your team members follow the process  without changes. Plans need to be reviewed in light of current events. Teams at Tour de France gather every evening to plan the next day. Riders even wear headphones during the race in order to share new data in real time.

3. Do not celebrate too soon

You certainly know the cases where a cyclist releases the handlebar, straightens up, raises his arms above his head and then falls just before the finish line. Celebrating too soon is tempting, but often ends badly. Each team member should clearly know where the finish line is.

4. Cooperate with other teams

Even opposing teams may help each other by hold the same pace for a time. In addition, cooperation across teams can contribute to a better performance than only working within a single team.

5. The Team is the winner

Although it seems there is only one winner, the whole team carries the trophy in the end (not only at) the Tour de France. It is important to appreciate the efforts of all members and celebrate together.
