Learn to speak and communicate better
Learn to express yourself better. Learn the craft of both verbal and non-verbal communication and become a charismatic speaker who is able to use their communication skills in every interaction.
Show respect to people around you
Put simply, if you do not respect people around you, they will not respect you either. Be tolerant and take an interest in other people.
Listen
This point in many ways relates to the previous paragraph. Be interested in what people are trying to tell you, and learn sometimes just to remain silent and be an active listener.
Do not be everyone's friend at all costs
A respected, charismatic person is someone who stands firmly behind their priorities and values. If someone else does not share the same priorities, you do not necessarily need to be friends with them, but nor does this mean you should be getting into conflicts with them.
Clearly communicate your expectations and priorities
People respect those from whom they know what to expect. You should therefore make it clear to others what your priorities, expectations and attitudes are. You will thus become more predictable and people will respect you more.
